Technical Obsolescence Management Plan
VuDu Engineering was appointed by Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) and Marshall ADG to lead and manage the development of a costed technical roadmap for the C-130J until its out of service date.
This collaboratively developed strategic roadmap was seen as a defence exemplar project and entailed a comprehensive review of all current and future avionics obsolescence issues, liaising with OEMs, as well as consideration of planned capability upgrades.

VuDu delivered:
A costed solution featuring high-level information to satisfy the Director Air Support as well as granularity for desk officers to enable the re-profiling of finances.
A strategic roadmap underpinned by multiple solutions for each obsolescence issue with supporting data from reliability centred maintenance (Marshall ADG) and C-130J DT supply management.
The successful identification of opportunities of alignment with Lockheed Martin and other C-130J users such as the USMC and RDAF to ensure cost and time savings.
The integration of air traffic management milestones ensuring freedom of manoeuvre in civilian airspace upto 2035.
An exemplar project of industry supporting defence as identified by the Director Air Support.
“We appointed VuDu to complete a TOMP study over the summer of 2020. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges presented by numerous national lockdowns, VuDu delivered and to a very high standard.
Their management of all the respective stakeholders was excellent and they really succeeded in bringing the team together and in getting the best out of everyone involved. The flow of communication throughout was also first-rate and the presentation delivered by VuDu to the customer at the end of the project was clear, concise and professional.”
