RAF C-130J TCAS MILACAS V7.1 Upgrade
VuDu Engineering’s delivery of a time and mission critical project enabled the Royal Air Force’s C-130J Hercules fleet to maintain its worldwide freedom of manoeuvre.
To ensure the Royal Air Force’s C-130J Hercules could continuing to support UK operations around the globe, there was a need to implement TCAS II Change 7.1 across all aircraft by December 2015.
VuDu Engineering supported the C-130J delivery team in leading and managing the upgrade, achieving the mandated European Airspace requirement on time - and within budget.
VuDu delivered support in the following areas:
Hazard analysis and safety management within an airworthiness environment.
Establishing and agreeing Type Certification Basis (TCB) with the regulator for major modifications.
Assessment of evidence (DO-178/DO-254/DO-160) and utilisation of evidence for certification.
Liaison with the C-130J DT strategic partner, QinetiQ, for independent technical evaluation of evidence in supporting the safety assessment.
Development of release to service recommendations.
Stakeholder engagement and management of the senior management team within defence equipment and support.
“I have worked with VuDu for a number of years in support of the UK C-130J, most recently on a number of key aircraft upgrades for which they had the lead. I greatly appreciate VuDu’s technical competence, leadership and professional approach and would not hesitate to recommend them.”
